Wayne State College Intramurals Crown Champions Across Fall Activities

The intramural sports program at Wayne State College recently wrapped up its latest season, celebrating the spirit of competition, teamwork, and student involvement. Champions were crowned across multiple sports, showcasing the diverse athletic talent and dedication of the college's student body.

The intramural season was packed with excitement. Teams competed in a variety of sports, including flag football, basketball, sand volleyball, pickleball, board ball, and so much more. Each league and tournament brought its own unique energy, drawing enthusiastic crowds and fostering a strong sense of community on campus.

The intramural program at Wayne State College continues to be a cornerstone of student life, providing opportunities for students of all skill levels to compete, stay active, and form lasting friendships. As this season concludes, students are already looking forward to the next slate of sports and the chance to compete for a spot in the college's intramural history.

With our limitation of facilities, due to the ARC project, we were held to hosting just 16 events this semester. However, that didn't slow down our students as we set individual records pickleball with 70 students participating, creating 35 teams. Flag football tied it's record of 165 students, compiling a league with a record 18 teams. Cornhole bolster 68 students, which is good for an increase of 13 more participants, breaking the record set back in the fall of 2022. In total, the program saw just under 600 students actively engaged in one or more activities across the fall semester.

Congratulations to all the participants and champions for an unforgettable season!
