Rec Center CLOSED DUE TO ARC PROJECT

In light of the ongoing construction work linked with the ambitious ARC Project, Wayne State College's Rec Center is set to undergo temporary closures and adjustments, impacting various facilities and services. Beginning Monday, April 29th, both the Rec Center Arena and Weight Room, along with the men's and women's locker rooms, will be closed until further notice.

To accommodate the inconvenience caused by these closures, steps are being taken to ensure continued access to essential fitness equipment and spaces for WSC Students, Faculty, and Staff. Specifically, several cardio machines will be relocated to the Brandenburg building. Starting Monday, May 6th, two designated rooms will be made available for usage by the aforementioned groups. These rooms will operate on the following schedule:
Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 8 pm
Friday from 8 am to 6 pm
Weekends from 12 pm to 6 pm.

Access to these rooms will be through east door #4 after 5 pm and throughout weekends, with a valid WSC ID being mandatory for entry.

Additionally, recognizing the importance of maintaining access to weightlifting facilities, the varsity weight room will be reopened to Students, Faculty, and Staff starting Monday, May 13th. Operational hours for this facility will be Monday to Thursday from 4 pm to 8 pm. Entrants are requested to utilize the north door for entry, with a valid WSC ID being a prerequisite.

For any queries or concerns regarding the temporary closures, adjustments, or access to facilities during this period, individuals are encouraged to reach out to Mike Barry via email at mibarry1@wsc.edu.

While these adjustments may present some inconvenience in the short term, they are integral to the broader vision of enhancing the recreational facilities at Wayne State College through the ARC Project. Your understanding and cooperation during this period of transition are greatly appreciated as we work towards creating a better-equipped and more accessible recreational environment for the entire WSC community.
