The Wayne State College women's rugby team had five members selected for the Prairie States All-Star team, and competed in a 7's tournament hosted by National Collegiate Rugby in Atlanta, Georgia from Saturday, January 18 to Sunday, January 19.
Players were selected based on play throughout the season in its entirety, taking into account statistical achievements as well as their play on the field.
Grace Cruise,
Mary McKulsky,
Faith Roscoe, Sydney Thomas, and
Shae Wiederien were all selected as All-Stars.
Cruise was selected as the captain of the team. The five players help lead Prairie States to a 3-2 record throughout the tournament. The team dropped their first two games, but went on a nice three game run, outscoring opponents 84-38.
All players gave excellent effort and the field and earned a very prestigious honor, no matter the results on the field.
