The Wayne State College club women's volleyball team traveled to Lenexa, Kansas this past weekend to compete in the Rock Chalk Invitational.
WSC's A team competed against the Iowa State Cyclones B squad and the Nebraska Cornhuskers in pool play. The Wildcats dropped both of these games by scores of 2-1 against the Cyclones and 3-0 against the Cornhuskers. This put them in silver bracket play.
In bracket play, the A team was able to get by the Kansas Jayhawks B side 2-1, but fell to the Wisconsin Badgers B side 2-1 in the semifinal game.
WSC's B side pool play teams consisted of the Creighton Blue Jays and the Kansas Jayhawks A team. Both matches ended in 2-0 loses for the Wildcats. They also played the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, winning that match 2-0. These results also placed them in the silver bracket. There, the B side lost their opening match to Pittsburg State 2-0.
The Wildcat squads are back in action in two weeks on Sunday, December 3 at the South Dakota State Invitational.
