WSC Valorant had their 3rd match of the NECC season versus the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee this Monday. In map 1, Lotus, WSC showed again that they are a dangerous team on offense, winning the first half handedly 10-2. Everyone's strengths were on full show this half, especially their resident chamber main Kobe "Mooosemilk" Haukap. Kobe showed just how much of a game changer the operator can be when attacking. He finished the first half of Lotus with a massive 14 kills and 3 assists in the first half. Also near the top of the leader board with a K/D of 11-6 was Greg "geg" Downing, a new addition to WSC's top Valorant team. After half, WSC cleaned up the last 3 rounds finishing 13-2 and bringing the match score to 1-0. Map 2, Icebox, was a very different story. First half, WSC dominated the defensive side, finishing the half 8-4. Harrison "HINDENBURG" Hawkins takes the top of the leader board first half going 12 and 7 on an unfamiliar agent. It is looking like he is feeling more and more comfortable with his role on Sova. Starting the second half, WSC kept the ball rolling, bringing the round count to 10-6 in favor of WSC. However, things took a turn for the worst as UWM woke up and swept the rest of the map, winning Icebox 10-13 and bringing the match score to an even 1-1. On the final map, Pearl, WSC decided that losing rounds was less than ideal, showing strong coordination and patience at every turn. WSC wins map 3 in another lopsided 13-2 finish and closes the series 2-1. Captain Matthew "Taunt" Williams showed exactly why he thrives in the controller role with timing, awareness, and adaptability fit for the highest level of play. Caden "elephanteggs" Uhl also showcased his strengths and flexibility on Skye, displaying excellent flash placement and team coordination while still making solo plays in crunch time. Overall, WSC Valorant made it clear that they are untouchable on the newer maps. Newcomer Downing had a few comments after the match:
"Our Pearl and Lotus are strong; we have a lot of confidence in our strategies and in our gameplay. Still, we need to clean up on Icebox so we can't even make it to map 3." -Greg "im the best gamer ever" Downing.
