The Wayne State College women's club volleyball team took home a second place finish at the Creighton University Invitational. The Wildcats went 3-1 over the weekend.
The first game pitted the two Wildcat squads against each other, with the A team earning a two set sweep (25-20, 25-17). The Wildcats second contest pit them against the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. WSC beat the Mavericks for the second time this year in a 2-0 sweep (25-11, 25-9). In the third contest, WSC swept through the Peru State University Bobcats 2-0 (25-9, 25-12).
Then came the time for the Wildcats to play to host team, the Creighton Blue Jays. In a highly competitive match, the Blue Jays got the better of the Wildcats, winning in straight sets (29-27, 26-24).
The Wildcats have some time off before preparing for the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation National Tournament, running from April 13 to April 15.
