The Wayne State College Men's Rugby team competed in their second 7's tournament of the spring this past weekend at the Kansas City College Invitational. The Wildcats had a tough time getting anything going in KC, going 0-3 on the weekend.
The first game of the tournament paired the Wildcats against the Southern Nazarene University Storm. WSC struggled to put points on the board, only scoring 5 points in a 19-5 lose to the Storm. Game number two put WSC against the Benedictine College Ravens. In a much closer effort, the Wildcats still fell short, 24-19. The third and final game of the tournament was a dual of the the Wildcats, as WSC paired with the Kansas State University Wildcats. K-State proved to be too much for WSC, as the Wildcats wearing purple won 28-14.
This brings the Wildcats' record to 2-6 for the spring season. The Wildcats will be back in action this Saturday in Wayne, NE for the National Collegiate Rugby 7's National Qualifier.
