Six Men's Rugby players selected for NCR All-Star Tourney

| By:
The Wayne State College men's rugby team had six players selected to participate in the National Collegiate Rugby's All-Star tournament in Atlanta, Georgia from Saturday, Jan. 11 to Sunday, January 12. All were selected to play for the Midwest Barbarians.
The Wildcats had many great pieces to the team that claimed the National Championship this past season, and these players were determined to be the best of the best. Players were selected based on play throughout the season in its entirety, taking into account statistical achievements as well as their play on the field.
Four Wildcats played in the Championship division with the Barbarians: Max Burke, Trent Draper, Asante Rikhotso, and Diego Stefani. The Barbarians made it to the final of the tournament, but fell short to the Independents Red team from the New England area 17-7.
The other two selections in Logan Stevens and Francisco Rolon, both freshmen All-Stars, competed for the Barbarians Rising Stars team. This team also made a run to the finals, but just like in the Championship division, the Rising Stars' Barbarians came up short, losing in sudden death overtime to Tri State Foundry 15-10.
Despite the results in the tournament, all of these players achieved a great feat and put forth tremendous effort in their All-Star competitions.
