The WSC Rocket League team attended the Collegiate Champions League (CCL) Finals this weekend 4/14 to 4/16 at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSMT) in Rapid City, SD. The CCL is made up of regional schools from ND to NE, such as NDSU, USD, DSU, UNO, WSC, & SDSMT. The Finals consisted of the Top 4 teams from each game title coming together to play the Semi-Finals and Grand Finals on LAN in Rocket League, Valorant, and League of Legends.
WSC Rocket League had an almost flawless regular season, going 5-1 with their only loss being to NDSU in week 2 of competition. This record automatically qualified them for CCL Finals as the 2nd seed in the bracket. USD was the first opponent WSC had to face in the Semi-Finals at the LAN on Saturday the 15th. The team made quick work of their opponent in a best of 7 dominating USD in a 4-0 sweep. WSC had a total of 17 goals to USD's 4 goals.
On Championship Sunday WSC was faced with the undefeated NDSU team in the Finals. NDSU had previously beat WSC 3-0 in the regular season. However, the 'Cats came to play, sweeping their rivals 4-0 in the best of 7 Championship to take home the first place CCL trophy! WSC had a fantastic showing with a total of 18 goals to NDSU's 6 in the series. WSC Rocket League stunned most in attendance, as the predictions from the casters and analysts were all in NDSU's favor.

Jace "Amatsugatchi" Hoferer was named MVP of the tournament! With a total of 16 goals in bracket play. The analysts had started referring to him as the "F22-Raptor" as he was a lethal aerial threat to all his opponents.
WSC Rocket League clearly put in the work and really stepped up their game this season to pull off this win.
