Game number one say the Wildcats pair up with the Air Force Falcons. The Falcons got out to the hot start, scoring two runs in the first inning. WSC was able to close the gap in the third, knocking home a run to make it 2-1. Air Force was able to extend their lead with a run in the fifth inning, making it 3-1. The Wildcats bats exploded in the third, as three runs crossed the plate, giving the Wildcats the 4-3 lead through five innings. The Falcons were able to run away with the game in the last two innings, scoring six runs in the sixth and two runs in the seventh, making the final score 11-4. Graduate student Jordan Ovedio highlighted the stat sheet for the Wildcats, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored.
Game two pit the Wildcats against the Creighton Bluejays. Meanwhile, the Bluejays were able to push across seven runs on five hits to win the game 7-0. Oveido again highlighted the Wildcats' performance, going 2-for-3.
Game three saw the Missouri S&T Miners go toe-to-toe with WSC. The Miners got out to the fast start, as they plated three runs in the opening frame, and they never looked back. The Miners scored two more runs in the sixth, and the pitching staff only allowed one run on three hits while striking out eight Wildcat hitter, as the Miners took the win 5-1.
The Wildcats will be looking to get back on track as they host the South Dakota Coyotes at Hank Overin Field in Wayne on Tuesday, October 17. The game is slated to start at 6 P.M.
