The Wayne State College club baseball team played a three game series against the University of Wisconsin Badgers club team on April 1 and April 2. The Badgers ended up taking two of the three games from the Wildcats, pushing WSC's overall record to 14-10 on the year.
    The series started with a doubleheader on Saturday. Game number one saw the Wildcats take an early 1-0 lead after the first inning, However, that quickly changed after the Badgers scored four runs in the top of the second inning. WSC battled back to score two runs in teh bottom of the third to make it a 4-3 ball game, but the Wildcats got no closer, as the Badgers ended with three unanswered runs to put the final score at 7-3.
    Game two of the doubleheader was a total flip of the script. Again, WSC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead off a Zane Shearman single in the first. The Badgers tied the game in the top of the third, but the Wildcats immediately regained their lead in the bottom half of the inning, scoring two runs. The Wildcats added three huge insurance runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a single from Dylan Christensen and a sac fly from Kaden Ritz. Each team plated another run to give WSC the 7-2 win. Eithan McKenna, the pitcher for the Wildcats in game number two, pitched a complete game to earn the win. He allowed two runs on four hits with six walks and six strikeouts. 
    The series finale on Sunday saw the Badgers offense explode, scoring a run in every inning of play, highlighted by a six run fourth inning. The Wildcats only mustered up one run, giving Wisconsin the mercy rule win, 11-1 after only five innings. This win gave Wisconsin the series win over WSC.
    The Wildcats close the regular season with a three game series against the Creighton Bluejays this weekend, Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16, in Omaha, Nebraska.
